The BIG ONE

So my weekend was great! It started with fishing and then ended with some more fishing. It began with driving Heather to work in the morning because she could't fly home because of the thunderstorms, so I figured I would go fishing. About twenty minutes outside of Sunriver is the little lake called North Twin Lake. I was first introduced to this lake when we went on a high adventure out to this same location. The fishing is great out there so I threw the pole in the car. The first day was a great learning experiance because I figured out where the big guys hide. I was fishing this really nice spot and the water is crystal clear so I could see really well, and I hooked into this fish and I couldn't beileve my eyes. This big old Rainbow trout was what I had on. I thought it was probably twenty four inches long or bigger and the way it was taking line I needed my Stealhead pole. So right when i'm about to bring him in he gets off!! I was so tickt off. It was time for me to go so I got my gear together and took off. So I told Heather about the fish and she told me I needed to catch it so we could eat it. So I told Heather that I would take her to work again and try my chances at getting a big one. Morning came and I was so stinkin excited to try to catch this fish I couldn't stand it. So I rushed out to my spot and began to fish. It had been a little while from some of the action I was getting out of these little fish and I began to wonder if it was going to happen. So right when I was getting down on myself it HAPPENED!! I hooked the big one! He was a real fighter with my Trout pole I was useing, he was taking line like crazy and finally I got him close enough to the shore I just grabbed my line and ran. It was one of the biggest fish I had ever caught before. So I got home and measured him out and he was twentyseven inches long and I figured him to be about eight to ten pounds! So that was my great weekend. Those fillets are setting on our biggest cutting board its about forteen inches by twelve.

Air Museum

Heather is the aviation president for the school and they planned a trip down to the Evergreen air museum. We meet up at eight thirty in the morning and caravaned over there. It was a sweet place! There are three main buildings, in one of them is just airplanes, the other holds NASA stuff, and in the other there is a big IMAX theater. We looked around at the airplanes and then went to watch an IMAX video about the Blue Angels. It was amazing to see how close they flew together and all of the different manuvers they do. We then headed to the NASA area. It was really great to see all of the different rockets and shuttles they had. Over all it was amazing it is a for sure thing to go and see.

Motocross!!!!

Heather's step mom called us up one of the nights and told us that she had some free tickets to a motocross event at the expo center in Redmond. We had herd the commercials for it and totally wanted to go but it was like fifteen bucks a person so we decided not to go. So when heather's step mom called we jumped on it. We took off towards Redmond totally stoked to go and we couldn't wait to get there. When we got there we decided the best spot to sit and sat down. The races begain with the little boys league they were probably five or six and they were to cute. They then had the womens league and Heather totally wanted to jump in there! They then finished with the mens league. It was a great time and Heather's dad came with us. So it was good to hear his stories of when he used to race!

Missionary Fun

One time the missionaries were over and we were just chatting about disc golf because one of them saw my disc bag and asked if we played. So we talked for a while about our different experiences during disc games and I asked if they wanted to play. The said that they would love to play. On Mondays we play basketball with them and I told them that we could do it Monday morning at eight. So we went out and played. It was so much fun, but it was like twenty degrees and we all froze. Elder Connell is the one about to throw the disc and Elder Larson is the one standing there. It was a great time!!!

School is Hard Work

School has been great this year, and seems to be getting easier as we find our trends for studying. Heather's classes for winter term consisted of meteorology, management, aircraft systems, and writing 122. A full schedule and a lot of work. She has worked very hard this term and is showing it. My classes for winter term have consisted of writing 121, math 111, Auto Cad 2, and the famous backcountry skiing class. I did my fair share of hard work this term, but I also got to play! Picture one is the way heather studies and all the other pictures are how I study!

Winter Fest!

Winter fest in Bend is always a good time, but it was way to cold this year. It was nice for all the snow the brought in but it was like twenty degrees. Heather's co owner with the plane, Jill and her boy friend are professional skiiers and totally rip it up. So one of the main reasons we went to winter fest is because Mark, Jill's boyrfriend was in the rail jam. It was really fun to go watch him and the other skiiers compete. Mark did well but got sixth place. He was bumbed but won second at Bachelor two weeks before that so it wasn't so bad. Heather and I walked around all the booths they had and it was like a mini saturdays market. Filled with tons of homemade gifts. At winter fest for the children they had snowmobile rides and a little track they would go around it was pretty sweet. They had ice sculptures that were really sweet to look at, but all in all it was a great time.
